M & P stood in a completely dark gallery, facing the audience. The performance commenced when the pre-edited sound tape started. With loud sound, the tape presented words featured in the exhibited works of REFLECTIVE MIND. Initially, these words were spoken with gaps in between, gradually building to a crescendo towards the end of the performance. Following their own inner rhythm and using wireless microphones, M and P conveyed their intimate words, synchronizing them with the rhythm of their faces illuminated by handheld battery lamps. The interplay between MP’s spoken words and those from the tape created an extreme cacophony, transforming the words into abstract, unrecognizable sounds… At the very conclusion of the performance, amid the backdrop of ironic laughter, M and P illuminated the faces of the audience with the intense beams of their handheld battery lamps.

The performance symbolically represented the reflection of the present reality, conveyed through the words spoken by M and P during that specific moment of the performance, as well as the external reality presented on the pre-recorded tape. M and P were reflected in both realms, in both temporal dimensions, through their words… The rhythm of illuminating their faces with blue light dramatically mirrored the rhythm of the spoken words, both in reflective reality and in the reflection of themselves. A reflection of the reflection…
