The performance “CALLING MARINA” is another in a series inspired by the work of Marina Abramović. This falls into the category of intimate, public performances where the audience is accidentally and spontaneously witness to the event but not a participant. M and P stand at a certain distance from each other on the plateau of Petrovaradin Fortress, facing the Danube, Novi Sad, and the plains. M holds a megaphone in hand and, in a specific rhythm, raises it towards the sky, loudly shouting: “MAAAARINA…” After some time (about ten seconds), P, with hands around his mouth like mountain dwellers and head turned towards the sky, loudly yells: “EHEEEEEEJ MARINAAAAAAA!” The calling of Marina is alternating, first by M, then P, then M, and so on until the end of the performance. The calling of Marina continues until M and P realize the absurdity and impossibility of summoning Marina and until they lose their voices.
